The Problem: Roof Leak Over the Garage

The homeowner has recently had a new roof installed. However, after the installation, they noticed a large wet spot was forming on the ceiling of the garage. Despite having the company that installed the roof come out to inspect and try to fix the problem multiple times, the issue continued. At this point, the homeowner looked into other options and reached out to Zephyr Thomas for help.

The Solution: Garage Roof Repair

Based on the homeowner’s description of the problem, Ryan told them that he believed the flashing under the shingles had not been done correctly. In order to inspect and isolate the issue, he recommended that they allow him to pull off some shingles to inspect the flashing.

With a clear look at the flashing, we were able to see that the company that did the roof installation overlapped the flashing the wrong way. This was causing water to travel under the seam of the flashing and was the source of the leak over the garage ceiling. We recommended a roof repair to fix the flashing, which would stop the leak.

The Additional Projects: Window Installation and Siding Addition

The homeowner initially just wanted the leak to be fixed. After talking with us, they also added a window installation and siding addition. They wanted to add vinyl board and batten siding on the front house wall leading to the garage.
